Paula Minnikin - Vice Chair
This already IS the best place in the world to live. It’s a failure of leadership that we don’t believe that collectively enough to make sure it stays that way. I want to make the rest of the city believe in itself as much as I do.
Paula Minnikin is an experienced executive in the information technology industry who has an extensive background with several prominent Nova Scotia companies. Paula is passionate about growing economic opportunities in the Atlantic Canada Region. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation, and chairs Governance and HR Committee as well as serving on the Audit Committee. She also serves as Governor of NSCAD University and serves as Chair of the Advancement Committee and Vice Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. She has also served for several years on the Board of Industry Advisors to the Jodrey School of Computer Science at Acadia University and has had the pleasure of providing several guest lectures to university audiences over the years. She is the Chair of the Program Committee for the (ICD) Institute of Corporate Directors, Atlantic Canada Chapter; Past Chair of the Municipal Affairs Committee of the Halifax Chamber of Commerce and has participated on several initiatives both municipally and provincially geared at growing our cultural, economic and sport future. Paula has played a founding in role in several Nova Scotia businesses and business related organizations over the last 15 years, including the TECH table, WINit, and Nova Scotia Links. Paula continues to be very involved with coaching and playing basketball and is very active in the skiing and sailing communities. Paula and her daughter, Amy, live in Halifax and are ardent supporters of the independent music scene that includes Amy’s brother and sister Gabriel and Ruth Minnikin.
