Patricia Cuttell-Busby

Halifax is at a point where we need to move from dialogue to action on issues such as sustainability, transportation, diversity and excellence in urban design. I believe through continued community engagement Citizens for Halifax can play a key role in advocating ideas and building leadership that will enable our city to reach its potential as the most liveable and vibrant city in Canada.

Patricia Busby has recently established a new partnership to form BURST! Transformational Solutions, which works with leaders in companies, organizations and communities to enable fundamental system changes and out-of-the-box transformational breakthroughs for innovative functionality. With a focus on community engagement, she has a background in urban and rural planning and has worked as a research associate at Dalhousie University’s Cities and Environment Unit where her work, in conjunction with her team received numerous national and international awards. She has worked in her own community advocating for better development through the Williams Lake Conservation Company and was active in organizing candidate debates and developing policy ideas during the last municipal election. International travel in over 20 countries has exposed her to many different social, economic and city planning theories which informs her world view thinking and has grown her appreciation for Halifax and the need to be proactive in protecting and enhancing its uniqueness. As an innovator, collaborator and social activist, she is currently engaged in learning about and evolving self-organizing systems and the social determinants that shape our culture and city.  Patricia is a resident of Spryfield.
